What are you willing to do to be successful?

Most of us are our own worst enemy's.  We set up all sorts of sure fail mechanisms in our lives while at the same time telling ourselves that we want it all.  I have no idea why this is the case as I an not an expert on the human psyche.  BUT I do see it all the time in other professionals.  They will say things like, "I don't work on Sundays."  or "I never take calls past 5:30 PM."

The question at hand is what are YOU will to do to be successful?  Are you willing to put on a Bunny Costume and wear a sign that says "We hop to our client's needs!"?  Or how about wearing a Mountaineering Outfit to a large meeting of professionals and having a sign that says "We will climb any peak for your businesses."  Would you go and introduce yourself door to door and hand out business cards?  Are you willing to stand out in a crowd?

Look into yourself and and take a realistic look at how far you would go to be successful, and then push yourself three steps beyond!  As you push past your comfort level you will be growing by leaps and bounds!  This is not a one time process, keep pushing and keep yourself growing!

How many miles do you drive?

Surf

SurfSurf

I love to drive.  As a Realtor I get to drive EVERYWHERE!  I average about 30,000 miles a year and this is all on a little Island in the middle of the Pacific.  Being a Realtor in Honolulu is a BLAST!  Rainbows, Sunshine, Lunch sitting on a wall overlooking the surf at Diamond Head, Happy Warm and Friendly People...the list could go on and on.

I have also come to love Audio Books.  Traffic is also a part of my day so I sit there, make the calls I need to make, and Cheer like a Mad Man for Harry Potter or whom ever I am listening to at the time.

I can only imagine what it looks like from the outside of my car...a 6'3", 375 pound guy in a Hummer jumping around and laughing his head off.

I always arrive to my meetings with a smile on my face and in my heart as well...and did I mention that I LOVE BEING A REALTOR?!?!?

Love what you do and the rest will come.

Cheers-

Mike

Mr. Haiku Plantations

Marketing and branding are such important pieces of what we do.  Can you imagine how easy it would have been when you started your carrier if everyone you met knew you were a well qualified Realtor, Shoe Store Owner, Internet Cafe Owner or an Auto Mechanic?

I hear people all the time say, "Oh no, I'm just a small business person" or try to hush the silly title some other way.  In this world, when you are bestowed with a "Silly Title", RUN WITH IT!  It means that you have done something right!

I am a Realtor and I own a Hot Dog Company as well.  I was known as the "Hot Dog Guy" for years and I too tried to play that title down...silly me.  That is until I met a very smart person who kicked me in the pants and told me to stand and take a bow!  My company took off because people knew who I was and what I did.  Rather than explain who I was I could focus on partnerships and driving sales.

Yesterday I was called Mr. Haiku Plantations by another Realtor.  I have heard this before and when it hit me yesterday it kinda warmed my fuzzy little heart and I knew my Real Estate Business was on the right track. :-)
